I currently live in a really run down place upstate and want to live in the city. I'm in my 20s right now so I don't have a lot of experience or a college degree but I'll do anything to live in the city I'd even sleep on floors for awhile and get a ton of roommates in Brooklyn or queens. I just want to wait tables for awhile while I think about doing college or a vocation and I have a dream of working in the entertainment industry as a music producer. I know NYC is expensive but I live somewhat close to it so I think it'd be easier then moving to another major city where I could hope to produce music. Any tips for getting started?
Sorry, stay where you are. You will be eaten alive in the city and with no experience in the music industry, not only will you be eaten alive you will have no life and no money either.

Not mad in the slightest. I honestly think you should go for it. Please report back here with your results - I need the entertainment.
I more than likely won't go to ny because it's overpriced cold and but I wouldn't even care if I had to sleep on a couch with 3 other dudes in my apartment and starve every day as long as I don't live in the country

If you don't know anyone in the city already, you could try craigslist for some creative living arrangements.
You could also try couchsurfing.com. You may have to pretend to be from a different country to get invites, though. Not sure.
