I locked in last March at 1.99 a gallon with Slomims with a free contract. COD is good I guess for a newer oil burner. But an older oil burner is is playing with fire.

How long did you have to negotiate to get free contract from Slomins? Best I got was $20 off the service contract.

I always had the free contract so it is automatic when I renew. I just work on price. How much is the service contract? What is the going price now per gallon?

not scared of the OP's scare tactic. No one really knows where the oil prices will go.

Oil prices actually went down prices slightly in the past week or two. I just filled my tank which should last me way past winter season @ $2.01 per gallon. My last fill was in late January 2016 @ $1.45 per gallon

are you a robot just quoting? I just posted what I paid 11 months ago. So it obvious there is an increase....quite a bit % wise but not $ amount wise. I can't confirm how much was it 12 months ago from the same company I bought it from.

Despite OPEC or some energy speculator out there says, who knows where oil will be in a few months from now or a year from now. Personally, I do think there is a massive glut of oil out there and it will dwindle a bit in 2017.

You are quoting COD prices. These are rates for folks not locked into a contract with a service plan.

for instance slomins you agree to one year of oil delivery with a free contract but dont lock in prices.

It is a lot more expensive this way. But tons of folks just never lock in and get a free service contract and are at the mercy of the heating company.

I was referring to your historical oil prices and speculation of future prices.

I locked in early Dec for $1.99 fixed and $140 tax included for their service contract. Previous contract was with Meenan at $2.25 ceiling with free service.
