I just discovered this strange new concept. Apparently, it has to do with people supposedly "miss remembering" things on a large scale. For example "Chick-Fil-A" was once "Chic-Fil-A", but their name has changed mysteriously at some point in the past. Another, "Volkswagen" used to be "Volkswagon". The new change don't even make any sense. BTW, did you know that VW's logo has a split in the middle now? How about the weird pigtail of the Ford logo? Looney Tunes? Anyone else is noticing this?
Volkswagon is German, originally called I believe, Volksauto (people auto). During the war, the company made all kinds of lovely parts for Nazi weapons and vehicles using labor from concentration camps.
I'm not sure what this has to do with Long Island, but it's basically just when there's something specific that many people all seem to remember incorrectly.
Some examples include:
Nowhere in the movie "The Silence of the Lambs" does Hannibal Lecter say, "Hello, Clarice"
The Monopoly Man (from the board game) doesn't wear a monocle
The TV show is called "Sex and the City", not "Sex in the City"
And, probably the most famous of them all, the children's books about a family of bears is named The Berentsain Bears, not The Berentein Bears.

60's VW ad properly spelled Volkswagen -- like it was in the 1930's
VW bus ad 60's -- split VW logo -- as it was in the 1930's
I will not post the 1930's VW KDF logo as it has the split VW embedded in a swastika-like design. If you care to see it, google Volkswagen KDF swastika logo.

But why does it happen and it is only in long island? Why do you think it happens that the people dont remember and even the letters change and the people dont know. It is only in long islands that the people dont remember and their minds change and where is it and in all the towns there?

This is a well known effect that occurs in populations around the world. What makes you think it only happens on Long Island?
