In New Jersey (in the 1960s) we kids went to the Blimpie sub shop in Hoboken. I'm in SoCal now and the closest sub I've tasted to a Blimbie is Jersey Mikes.
Much better than either of those 2. Those places use precut horrible meats. Jersey Mikes makes the Roast Beef in stores. Slices it fresh. We know Subway does not do that. Huge difference. There appears to be a location already open in Commack.
What is wrong with you people? If you live in a town that doesn't have a good deli you probably live near a town that has a good deli.
I agree. For some reason a comment I posted was deleted but I said I live in Franklin Square. We have pork stores and Italian delis which is where I get sandwiches. I'd only go to a place like this Jersey Mike's if I happen to be passing by. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yeah I don't get the appeal of Jersey Mike's in the NYC metro (or Subway for that matter) but the bottom line is sometimes people want to know exactly what they are going to get which is why places like Domino's and Papa John's can make a go of it there. One thing we are sorely lacking here is NY deli so Jersey Mike's it is. I can get pizza, bagels and Chinese but they just can't do deli. Publix makes good sandwiches too. It takes forever here to get it done though (another reason why NY delis don't last here).
