Did it happen to you, if you have a Nest thermostat, that the Nest report shows you actually used less in heating but your bill is about the same?

According to Nest I used 20 hours less than the previous month: 110 vs 90.
But my bill is $160 both times.

Did anyone notice the same?

Look at the delivery charges. You might have used less, but the delivery charge may be higher = same amount billed

This! If you have balanced billing you will not see immediate savings.

Probably balanced billing but also check if they billed based on an actual reading or an estimated reading. By me they only try to do an actual reading every two months. Because of all of the estimated readings I have the year to year comparison they give is useless to me.

Thanks all.

I just called them.

They call that "budget billing". I'm not in it.
They suggested to wait for the next bill to see if the difference is reflected there.

We'll see.

You're looking at dollars; you need to look at volume of gas used. The cost of the gas and the delivery expense has probably gone up even if the volume has gone down but, as others have said, you need to establish a period between actual readings or start taking your own readings to see for sure.

Nat Grid said the prices didn't really change much.

With electricity is the same. We're using LED and consume very little but the bill never goes down.

It looks like it's rigged...
