I just wanted to say how much i love long island! I know there are a lot of people here that hate it but i love it. My husband is a police officer and has to stay in NY. i grew up in New Jersey, and i moved here for him about 5 years ago. I honestly love it and would never go back to jersey. Even where i grew up, i don't even like going to visit anymore.

anybody else love long island?

Im glad you love it here. I like it here too 4 months out of the year. Summers are great but after that Im pretty much indoors which gets depressing. As you can tell Im a warm weather fella.

You get the best of all worlds living on Long Island. Close to the best city in the world, close to vineyards and farmland, surrounded by beatiful beaches and some of the best fishing in the world. I all comes at a price. You get what you pay for........it love it.

Although I left LI many moons ago and have lived in a variety of places across the USA, I have to admit that nothing compares to LI. I just wish it was not soooo expensive to afford a home..... I'd return in a hearbeat. I am proud to be a native Long Islander and still call it my true home! It was a great place to grow up.
(Thanks Mom & Dad, for having the wisdom in choosing LI when you both decided to leave Brooklyn in the early 60s!)

i love having the water so close on each side of the island. my favorite though is the vineyards, and driving out east to orient point! Also being able to just hope on the rr at ronkonkoma and going into the city.

I love it here also. We are near enough to the city to catch a show, near enough to a major airport, very close to the water and get all 4 seasons.

Driving out to Orient Point is really great. Although I haven't lived on LI for many years, it's still the place I grew up and I love it. Well, I love most points east of Stony Brook! I visit a lot and am constantly taking the ferry from New London to Orient Point and back again!

I love it here. Everywhere I visit I am just reminded how much I love it here. I love the 4 seasons, the lack of major weather issues here, the water, the neighborhoods, the shopping, the restaurants..so many things.

i also love it here and have absolutley no negative things to say. The beaches are the greatest and the weather not so bad But the cost of living for a senior is devasting.
I must leave and my heart is broken as I truly love it! Have sailed into every harbor have gone to every beach but now i must leave i can't afford to live here. I am sad as I am a true Long Islander. Have loved every moment!!!! Where am i going? don't ask. i haven't got a clue but it must be a place with wonderful beaches and the sun as it's warmth is free not 3.70 a gallon.
