Trip to Farmingdale (Huntington, Ronkonkoma, Roosevelt: hotel, construction, cost)

Hello All:
I have planned a trip on April 20-2017 to the Hilton Hotel in Huntington NY. The reservation lists its' address as "Hilton Long Island/Huntington, 598 Broad Hollow Road, Melville NY 11747-5002. I will be flying into LaGuardia. Can someone please instruct me in getting from the airport (preferably by train) to Huntington (or is it Melville?). I understand that the closes train station is in Farmingdale.

Train may not be the best method of travel, especially from LGA.

You will need to get a bus from LGA to the LIRR Jamaica station. There are also combinations of bus/subway that will also get you there. I'm not sure of the details. There is no subway/train service at LGA. You will have to take a bus or cab to get out of the airport.


From Jamaica station: LIRR to Farmingdale Station (Ronkonkoma Branch - color coded purple). Once at the station, take a cab or Uber (Uber is better bet than the disgusting cabs) to the Hotel. Its about a 5 minute drive. There are no mass transit options from the train to the hotel. (note: contact hotel and see if their shuttle will pick you up at the train. They claim to offer shuttle service to nearby offices within 5 miles, so they should be able to pick you up)>

It will probably take you around 1.5-2 hours depending on time of day and how lucky you are with connections.


Better idea - just get an Uber from LGA direct to your hotel. Cost will be around $80. Depending on time of day, it will take 45min-1hr.

The hotel is the Huntington Hilton, it is actually located in Melville. No matter what route you go It will be expensive or long. Take the q70ltd bus from LGA to Woodside it runs every 5-10 minutes. At Woodside you can take any train 1 stop to Jamaica then get on the a Farmingdale bound train the take a uber you can't walk it. Should run $20-$30 and 90 minutes possibly less. A uber/cab/car service will be $70-90 one way and take 60-90 minutes depending on traffic and time of day

LGA is a total an absolute shambles, it is under major construction. Don't count on being able to hook up with a car waiting for you. Take a yellow cab to the LIRR either at Woodside ($20 - closer less trains) or Jamaica (further more trains). Woodside station is @ 61st St Roosevelt Ave Woodside, NY 11377

Don't let the cab guy charge you for both directions.
