Was in PC Richard the other day checking out new gas stoves. A lot have these grill/griddle attachments centered over an oval burner that you can use to make pancakes or cook steaks on. They are made of cast iron. They look pretty cool. Has anyone purchased a stove like that recently? Is it a pain to clean?

Also, I was always a GE appliance customer and was wondering how Samsung and LG measure up?

It is not a pain or difficult to clean the stove. Those grill type attachments are pretty pricey and if you keep looking at Marshall, or Home Goods you can find those grills attachments for a lot less.

Got one about 2.5yrs ago its a full griddle in the center with the large oval burner. I love it we use it for pancakes and cook steaks/lamb on it. Was definitely worth it. I just wash it in the sink with steel wool, for a quick cleanup I just scrap it with a dough cutter. Not sure if they all do, mine also a grate so you can use it as a 5th burner if you desire.

Yep, it's exactly how you describe. Some of the griddles seemed heavier than others. I have a new double sink, stainless and I could see that cast iron griddle scraping the hell out of it while cleaning. Don't ever get a double sink, too small to clean bulky stuff.
