Just let your current lawn die. Spray it green in the summer and spray it brown the other three seasons. Practically the same as Zoysia.

My lawn is Zoysia and I am in the minority who actually loves it. It's very comfortable to walk on in bare feet and its hearty enough for my dogs to wrestle around on and not dig up like they would regular grass. No weeds, minimal mowing and mine stays green 6 months of the year despite what others tell you.

What? This is Long Island...you're supposed to toss it over your fence onto your Optimum using, non-leaf raking next door neighbor's lawn with the car strewn backyard with tree limbs that hang over the broken fence he refuses to go halves on.

Get rid of your grass and plant trees and shrubs. Grass is for wimps with no imagination.

And your post on a thread about grass means what?

We had Zoysia grass in our backyard and it was great, even the hay color looked nice with the only downside was the dog rolling in it and bringing hay bits into he house.

Oddly in our yard it stayed mostly in one spot and didn’t take over the yard, and those plugs were put in sometime before 1963.
