My lawn is Zoysia and I am in the minority who actually loves it. It's very comfortable to walk on in bare feet and its hearty enough for my dogs to wrestle around on and not dig up like they would regular grass. No weeds, minimal mowing and mine stays green 6 months of the year despite what others tell you.
i love it too! my plugs have finally started to spread. about a quarter of my backyard is zoysia now. the dog poop just sits right on top. easy to pick up and deposit in the corner of my yard...

What? This is Long Island...you're supposed to toss it over your fence onto your Optimum using, non-leaf raking next door neighbor's lawn with the car strewn backyard with tree limbs that hang over the broken fence he refuses to go halves on.
Geeeeez. These posts for Long Island really make us look really really shallow......
And your post on a thread about grass means what?
We had Zoysia grass in our backyard and it was great, even the hay color looked nice with the only downside was the dog rolling in it and bringing hay bits into he house.
Oddly in our yard it stayed mostly in one spot and didn’t take over the yard, and those plugs were put in sometime before 1963.
