^ I hate cold as much as anyone, but the dry desert heat would be an instant no for me. SD is where the good weather's at.
High deserts are much less hot than places like Phoenix. Albuquerque is dry yet temperate, Santa Fe is a little cooler and moister. Flagstaff, Arizona has excellent weather also, although not part of a desert.
