I'm not familiar with Brentwood - but it keeps cropping up in the worst news. Today we've got a Brentwood woman indicted for laundering $85K for ISIS. Previously two MS-13 related murders /attempted murders, including MS-13 gang members in the high school. What the heck is going on with Brentwood?

what's their to say - it's a lousy area. It was a perfectly acceptable middle class suburb for many years until it started a long/slow decline. There were still decent pockets as recently as 20 years ago. Since then, it's fallen off a cliff.

I guess a 3rd world blood diamond qualifies as a jewel.

Brentwood has always been know as a Moderator cut: language removed seedy neighborhood, even back in the early 90's when I moved to LI so all this news you are hearing about Brentwood is nothing new. Maybe it was nice back in the 60's but once undesirable minorities & low income families moved in it all went downhill.

Brentwood would be like any other boring Suffolk County neighborhood if not for this string of violence

Brentwood is far from a normal “boring” LI neighborhood, despite what you think from driving through it once a year
