I should have taken and posted photos of the the snow accumulation....
...in my attic!
If you have gable end vents and your house is facing the right direction, you may have some snow piled up in your attic.
I only noticed because I have a house fan in the ceiling near one of the gable vents, and it was dripping water. The area by the vent on the other side has snow too, but it's just sitting on top of the insulation. I know wet insulation is no good...but I also know snow has a lot more volume than water...hoping this just dries/evaporates and does not stain my ceiling. I tacked up some contractor bags to the inside of each gable end vent for now...perhaps some plywood shutters are in order that I can shut from the inside each winter?
I went to visit my parents in Queen from Carle Place. It was a great drive. Hardly any people on the roads. Its was a calm but adventurous drive.
