Hello. I'm looking to install a new countertop (marble or quartz) in my kitchen. Anyone knows any reputable, not too pricey company? Also, what is the average price per sqft I should expect to pay? Thanks.

Get Quartzite not be confused with Quartz. Quartz is man made w/ crushed quartz and resins, Quartzite is a natural stone that looks very much like marble but unlike marble its durable and actually harder than granite. Pricing is usually slightly more than granite. I don't recall what mine cost since I bought as a package from the supplier with the cabinets.

Marble is pourous - if you spill wine or spaghetti sauce on it for example it will stain.

Granite or quartz is the way to go.

I put granite in our kitchen (maybe quartz next time). After going all over the place looking at granite yards for "the one" I found that Nash Granite on 110 in Farmingdale had the best selection for granite of all of them.

That's why I mentioned Quartzite in my prior post. It looks like marble but is durable like granite. Nash has great inventory and had tons of Quartizite, they are a bit pricey though.

I have granite (it was here when I bought my house). Love the look but in hindsight, I prefer quartz/quartzite.

Agreed. K&K is great.

Also, do not get marble for your kitchen.
