Guys, I am thinking of getting indirect water heater installed. I have oil fired boiler with coil for hot water.
But the estimates I am getting are anywhere from 2300 to 3500 , everything included.
Is this normal price? seems very expensive.
Any input will be highly appreciated.

Thats about right but well worth it. The indirects come with longer warranty and you will save fuel. Plus your boiler will work all summer so you will have less worries it wont fire in the winter for heat.

Yes.

I have a family of 3 and have a 40 gallon indirect (not supr-stor).
FYI there are better models out there other than Supr-Stor (think Amtrol or Rheem or Peerless)

Yep that’s about right. Indirects are not cheap. If you want to go cheaper you can just get a storage booster tank, not as efficient like the indirect but will supply you with plenty of hot water.

Sounds about right. The units are expensive. Make sure its stainless steel, it will be the last tank you ever need to install.

40-45 should be fine.

You might get better pricing in the summer when they are not as busy.

Yes, they a batch with bad welds but all manufacturers have duds once in a while.

Weil McLain had issues with plastic bushing years back, still a great boiler. As long as they make it right with the customer, I don't see an issue.
