I ended up leaving our house in GC around 8:35AM and passed the SSP at 8:50AM. The MBP was fine according to the news (and Google Maps), and the WP a mess. It took about 40 minutes from the SSP to parking field 4, not too bad. Was on the beach at 9:50AM. But traffic was definitely increasing rapidly. We left at 2:30PM (the Blue Angels performance was still ongoing) and made it home without any traffic or issues.
So if I would go again in another year I would follow the same approach.
The airshow itself (and the day at the beach/weather) was perfect. Love the Raptor, Blue Angels and Snowbids. Got to meet Sean Tucker which was also very cool.
