The other advantage might be its central location. It is certainly closer to New York City as well as central Nassau than me out in Babylon or someone say out in Rocky Point.
Is Hempstead really that much cheaper than somewhere like Baldwin, though?

I have no idea. I just was trying to point out that Hempstead Village does have some nice blocks.

Also that some people might prefer its west central Nassau County location rather than someplace farther East. Especially if they have to work in city.
