I dont fly. At all. But if Mrs. Karl or the little Karl's do, they fly out of MacArthur.
It's like the McDonalds of airports. I just drive them up to the door and drop them off and keep going.
Greatest airport ever.

I've taken the Air Train to JFK a few times. Pretty convenient for me. Although, I opt for a car service if I have more luggage than a couple carry-ons...

Laguardia I avoid like the plague, but in the few times I've had no other options, a car service.

If out of Islip, I just ask a friend because most don't mind that drive...

If you can use MacArthur it's really the way to go.

When we fly up we always fly into JFK and use the air train. MacArthur is too far for a western Nassau trip (although Frontier is tempting us).

If I get a cheap flight from ISP I get dropped off by family

Most other times jfk and if it's a short trip I park at smartpark jfk and long flights car service

Small fraction I'll fly out of ewr and stay at a hotel that has a park and fly program

If you take the Airtrain, do you get a car service to to take you to a LIRR station first or do you just walk to a LIRR station.

Unrelated: I think it's fascinating that the terminals for MacArthur are placed at the opposite end from Ronkonkoma station. It's probably nigh impossible to reorient the airport, but what an interesting layout.

The railroad and the airport kind of each grew up near each other but on their own without coordination. In the late 1970's there was a plan to build a new terminal on the north side of the airport but nobody ever cared enough to implement it or were scared by the cost and the expansion took place on a piecemeal basis on the south side leaving what you see today.

A light, or very light robotically controlled rail system connecting the air terminal and railroad station should be a mandatory addition to any further development and a requirement for the development currently being considered for the railroad station area.
