I'm in the town of huntington. would anyone know approx how much my taxes would be raised if I added a 1/2 bath? Hundreds? Thousands?

Zero if you don't tell anyone. Seriously though, if you aren't planning on moving any time soon you can put it in and take out the toilet and sink before you sell.

When you say addition, do you mean actually adding square footage to the house for the 1/2 bath? Or are you just converting existing space?



I wouldnt be surprised if they jumped a thousand for a 1/2 bath...

If no one from Huntington replied, call the town tax assessor. In Smithtown, adding a half bath doesn’t even increase my taxes 150. 4 years ago.

What happens if you do just the opposite, meaning, what if you take out 1/2 bath. Do your taxes go down?
