I’ve had two oddly shaped windows that I didn’t want to buy custom curtains or blinds for. I went to Home Depot and bought self tint stuff (it’s like a sticker). It worked great, and was a super cheap option. From the outside of the house, you couldn’t really tell it was up, either.
We had the clear uv blocking window film installed on west and south facing windows at our last two houses. Llumar on the first house and another brand (sorry, not able to look it up at this moment) on the other. Both worked great vs heat gain and sunfading of contents. Proper application is key though; IMHO its not a DIY project. The shop who did our 2014 install was Top Edge in St James. They also did our car tints (legal).
