Honestly didn't see this one coming. Broadcom is a chip maker, no? Seems like a stretch to be all things to all people by acquiring CA. Wonder what Charlie Wang would say?
Charles cashed out and never got caught for all of the things Sanjay went to prison for.
And while CA/Computer Associates was never a household name across the US it was one of LI’s biggest tech companies to work for in the 90’s and early 00’s.
Broadcom will proabably milk the mainframe business and sell off the rest.
I had an interview with them once, many years ago in their old offices near Hofstra. Too bad, I didn't get that job.
Consider yourself lucky! CA sucks/ed as a place to work. They haven't rolled out a profitable product in decades and they are only profitable because of their thirty years old mainframe offerings. You heard that right MAINFRAME!
I never worked for them, but had friends who worked for OSI when it was taken over by CA. They said that working for CA was pretty miserable. I don't know if that changed over time. Their products are still in use by many Fortune 500 companies, so while the name may change the products will be around for awhile.

I know you guys are just having fun, but please be careful to be civil to each other. Otherwise a thread that is enjoyable
and entertaining might have to be closed.
Thanks.
