You responded to me, not to the OP. And maybe if Long Island would attempt to tackle it's affordability crisis, perhaps you wouldn't have left in the first place. You could be living in a rowhouse that you own, overlooking the bay.
Ok, whatever. It's silly and pointless arguing about what other people should be doing and I try to focus on myself. "Long Island," assuming the taxman, won't attack the affordability problem until people stop paying the taxes. The best thing to do is vote with your wallet, and that's what I did.
No how, no way is any LI homeowner gonna undersell their house to someone who can get a mortgage and pay full price. This is capitalism, not a charity.
Bingo!
I didn't mention the name earlier in fear of offending any residents or relatives of residents of Tilrose.
But now that it's out, let the outrage begin. Or not.

Nothing wrong with Rowhouses or Townhouses though ... I don't see why anyone would be offended.
Believe it or not there is a very short block of attached houses on Meadow St in Garden City, closest to the intersection of Franklin Ave.
Duplexes (what are called "twin houses" in other parts of the country) are fairly common in Stewart Manor.
You may be speaking of Franklin Court which is not far from Meadow and Franklin. None are listed for sale now but Zillow shows one sold for $710,000 five years ago and is about 2,000 square feet. A lot of Garden City property for sale never sees Zillow. They still look to be in very nice condition on Google maps for having been built in 1936.
