As Tom said, it's part of your tax bill in nassau. You may never see it if your mortgage co. is paying your taxes.
In parts of Suffolk you get a sewer bill every 3 months. I know someone who claims he has never received a sewer bill and says if they ever catch up to him he will not pay any back billing.
I am waiting to see this one play out as the sewer district can lien the property and sell at an auction

I've lived on Long Island for decades; always had cesspools and never had a cesspool issue. I believe my experience is quite representative.
I'm talking about people who post on this board in regards to them, glad you haven't had problems but others have and I would rather pay a sewage bill.
