I know I applied for it in the past. I didn't think you had to do it manually every single year. In general, it isn't always the number one topic in my household. Remember, my primary residence isn't on Long Island so savings from STAR is insignificant to me.

This Long Island forum is becoming a valuable resource for tax advice.

When you give reps you should actually give reps.

My Mastic Beach property taxes are pretty low. So not too concerned. At least as of now, but I understand that is the number one risk to owning real property on Long Island. Crazy taxes. Don't know how you Nassau guys do it.

If you aren't getting STAR, that is probably why. It doesn't sound as if the property qualifies.

I deposited this check 2 months ago, however, apparently the deposit never went through and i dont have the check or any record of it. Does anyone know who I contact to get a new check reissued?

It's issued by the State - that's whom you have to contact...
Go on the State website, look for rebate, and see if you can find appropriate contact information.
