That's great news! Weed out the high risk homes and keep the rates low.

Seems different for everyone and you have to switch almost every year if you want a good rate. We had AllState, then Liberty Mutual, and now back to Allstate (another branch) for 2 years. They are still lower despite hikes, but maybe not next year. Had Geico years ago until they moved away from home coverage and stopped being cheaper. State Farm consistently quotes me $1k over everyone else.

Allstate outsources their homeowners insurance. I rather not have to deal with some company in Arkansas or Iowa if I had to make a claim. I have Geico for my cars and State Farm for my homeowners insurance. I pay a little more with Statefarm but the claims office is a few blocks away from my house.

I'm bundled with Amica and have nothing but good things to say.

Haven't had a need for a home claim yet (and hope to keep it that way!), but had one Auto accident and their customer service was awesome.

I had never heard of them either until I bought a house and started researching. I think they only recently started offering policies in the area:

I've had them for my apartment insurance when I lived in the city. They were pretty reasonable. What are they offering you?
