My lifelong dream is to live by the sea! I'm an early 50's single female & I would love some opinions/ feedback/ experiences Including Names of towns on either shore with reasonable rent 900 (!) or lower for a one bedroom or studio, and availability of jobs in either the hospitality and or home care fields. My youngest child will relocate to Brooklyn around the same time// I'm just starting on my research & planning trips to visit areas on LI & the Jersey coast, Thanks in advance!

You probably will be able to get a job as a home healthcare aide, at least part-time through one of the agencies. However, they do not pay enough to support the cost of living on the island. If you have looked at Long Island rents online, you'll see that your budget is much too low for anything without roommates in either NYC or Long Island.

Don't know about the Jersey coast, but on Long Island, there is no legal rental to be had anywhere for $900

If your not trying to enroll a child in school does 'legal' even matter ?

$900 might get you a room for rent for 1 person only if you are lucky. But good luck finding anything you want to live in for too long on LI for 900 month. We can all dream though.

Elke is correct too.

You might be able to find some sort of service related job for a wealthy person out east, where a room would be included somehow in the pay, since you’re single and don’t need room for other people.
