There is a chance the Dems will come to their senses and reject the extreme left's talking points on Socialism, Green New Deal, Reparations, Black Lives Matter, 70% taxes on the wealthy, bashing big business, abolishing ICE, open orders/immigration, etc.
On the one hand it would split off the large Bernie Sanders wing, but on the other hand it might possibly keep the Dems viable in the next election.
At this point it looks like Trump again in 2020 - can't see any moderates buying what the lefties are selling nowadays.

Fact remains, Kodak is the poster child for mishandling disruptive technology...that THEY created! At a crossroad of "go with the new digital" or "protect the paper, film and chemical" business they doubled down on film...the rest is history and a negative case study used in every business school in the country!

As for Amazon...every day in Newsday (twice today) you'll read of companies reneging on their IDA obligation, laying off workers, moving facilities to NJ and PA. They take the money, don;t deliver and we pay lawyers to try to claw it back, unsuccessfully. That process on steroids is what I think of Amazon's proposed numbers. I was still for it, but the hyperbole of GUARANTEED benefits to NY is a joke. Amazon didn't get rich by writing a lot of checks. They game the tax code and prey on desperate municipalities looking for an industrial jackpot. Takes a rube to think that is some kind of magic windfall.
Kodak followed the Tom Carvel school of business growth. Story has it that Ray Kroc had been selling his milkshake mixers to Carvel and wanted them to team up together but the father of Fudgie the Whale thought that hamburgers and thick shakes would not make a good combination and turned Kroc down. Years later Carvel opened a small chain of Hubie's Hamburgers but they failed because they could not compete with the already established McDonalds.
Nobody blamed his bad decision making on Cold War era politics; that's a phenomenon for today's tunnel-visioned partisans.

Go back to your wife's school and read up on command economies, communism and totalitarianism before spewing that same right wing "socialist" fear monger line.

This is a ridiculous notion that has been debunked repeatedly including by former executives at Kodak and the actual inventor of digital imaging technology at Kodak. Why is your head so stuck in this obviously disproven point? The larger issue of NAFTA and trade policy at least makes some modicum of sense, but singling out the one clear case of a US company kneecapping itself seems like the worst way to try to make that argument. You keep going on and on with the wrong use case that it's almost like a nervous tic.

But foolish demorats like AOC, Meeks and others have squandered that possibility. If you look at upstate New York today you see the results of NAFTA and other demorat policies. Smart companies that had been making buggy whips began making belts for the engines running horseless carriages; ineptly run companies kept making buggy whips until their warehouses were full and their coffers were empty.
Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security is an "ENTITLEMENT", Naaa we all pay into that and earned it.
But it isn't socialism to pay $12B to farmers due to Individual no. 1's tariffs?
One out of every four dollars in farm subsidies went to someone who received $250,000 or more that year.
Not unlike the tax cut more wealth to the wealthy, but that's not socialism.
