What the hell does a hoarder who just happens to live in a nice area have to do with "the problems Suffolk homeowners will have in the future"?
The price of that house has nothing to do with hoarding. If you can’t get 300k for a move in livable house with electric update, recent boiler and half an acre in a nice area? What am I missing?

Except it doesn’t sell. They keep reducing the price and changing realtors. Sounds like an undesirable location.
Maybe the house stinks like cat pee? There are a lot of people who simply turn their noses up at messes like that, who won't see the potential. Has nothing to do with Sayville suffering a calamitous decline or something.
I’m speaking only of home values. I believe living far away from NYC will be more undesirable going forward. In any decent Nassau town or halfway decent that house would not sit for 2 years, let alone 2 months for that price. I’d be concerned.
Some posters may be familiar with this area. Here is another price reduction. Check out the 2005 sold price. Ouch!
