I know there are a lot of threads about this kind of thing, but I couldn't find a specific time for H.S.

We are planning the move to L.I. and are looking at some places in Greenlawn within about a 12 min drive to H.S. The train I would take would be the 7:37 am. If I'm arriving at 7:25, am I going to be able to reliably find a spot?

Thanks!

By then it's crowed but you should still be able to find a spot.

Is there a time frame when this station fills up and there are no spots left? There is an 8:04 and 8:22 train leaving there in the am. If one were to get there around 8am will there be any spots left?

There's always spots in the outdoor lot along New York Avenue north of the platform.

Thanks so much! This is great to know. It looks like I would also be able to use the Greenlawn station and just connect to the 7:37 at Huntington. The Greenlawn station is much closer and would probably save me a long parking lot trek.

The only issue with the Greenlawn station is that you will always have to change trains, as the electric train line ends in Huntington. If you are getting home later, there are less trains because about half of them terminate at Huntington with no connecting service.

I would not use Greenlawn, driving to Huntington will be faster. as others have said, no changing trains and a more frequent schedule.

My advice: drive from Pulaski to Lenox and park in the B side garage. I usually take the following trains which are later than yours: 822, 855,925. There is always a spot on the top level of the B garage. Many days when I take the 822 i can even find a spot on the second to highest level.

For some reason I can't log in to write a new thread, so I'm posting this here.

This summer I may have to be in NYC weekdays by 9AM. I'm considering driving to Huntington for the 7:37.

I have two questions for you veteran riders:

How early need I be there to get a spot?

And are there seats on the train?

Thank you!
