The NY City Council doesn't seem to want me so I'm considering the equivalent in other areas for volunteer work (preferably writing oriented but I'll consider anything). I'm not looking for a private organization or an individual elected official. Even though I want to keep it generally non-political, I'm a democrat and I'd prefer something that's not always dominated by republicans. Is there a town council on Long Island that fits? Any other government offices? Nassau County would be better than Suffolk.
Volunteer at a VA hospital or a childrens hospital. You will be far better off
