Yes the cops arrived quickly once they were called.
Just because everyone videos everything doesn’t make it ok, you still need to be a good human and have sympathy. I don’t think anyone should have tried to break up the fight and no one is.
Yes no one expected a knife. Not sure why any of the store owners weren’t upset and concerned with a mob forming outside their store.
This is a tragic situation from all angles. I would find it very interesting to hear from a parent whose child was actually was their and video taped this fight. So far everyone seems to be not my kid.
Those businesses depend on the HS kids to survive. They weren’t going to be the ones to call, gathering there after school has been a thing for 30 years. I agree with most of your sentiments though.
Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer got arrested for viewing a crime and not helping!
This was a HS fight over a girl, that turned into a beat down by multiple people then a stabbing. The stabber should get 30 to life. Your took a fight over a girl with fists and turned into a murder. The others that jumped in and beat this kid with fists and feet should all get 6 months to 5 years depending on what the video shows. The girl if she did set this up to make her ex jealous should see 2-5 years. No juvy BS all should be tried as adults.
I don't want to hear the stabber didn't mean to kill him, hes a good kid etc. Bottom line you stabbed someone they died. End of story 30 to life.
I second this plan. Motion to vote...
Turns out the d-bag is 18 so he's not getting any breaks. aww, pity
This is so sad. High schoolers should know better but a lot of them don't. No excuses though for an adult to not do something … something so simple as call the cops.
Heart breaks for Khaseen's family. What a terrible way to lose a child.
The media has it right, 50+ kids watched, took video and did nothing to help this kid. The owners and patrons in the stores also watched. I haven’t seen the video but have read no one helped until he was bleeding out. I also read you can see people watching from the stores and did nothing.
While I 100% agree to not physically get involved, the cops should have been called once a crowd formed.
This is the 21st Century version of Kitty Genovese.
I haven't heard that race was a factor but the victim was black and the alleged killer was white. I'm not saying it was but I wonder if race was indeed a factor and what the races were of the other participants in the fight.

Do businesses really like when mobs of unruly kids hang out on their premises after school? Most of them aren't spending a lot of money, just hanging out.
Yes, tragic, a life that might have been a joy to others for 80 years is gone. It's no accident; somebody brought a knife, and that knife is somewhere. If the knife came with a malicious group in a car, then that car's license plate might be filmed.

Critics say that few people defended Kasheem, instead taking photos. This somewhat resembles a clear-the-benches brawl in major league baseball, where people enter the fray supposedly to defend their friends. It still results in a brawl. Any smart person would stay out of the way. Even police swinging billy clubs would themselves get hurt, and accused of whatever.

Back to baseball, you are guilty once you leave the dugout and head for the fight. I cannot blame those who stood by. One other boy got his arm slashed.
