Hey, any architects or contractors here to help.... im in ToNH
my architect put on the plans "cathedral ceiling can be raised to 2/3 the attic space. according to my calculations that would mean 11.5-12 ft ceilings

my question is... i currently have no attic as i took down all the walls... how would i calculate the height of the cathedral ceiling

The attic space would begin at the height of the exterior walls top plates.

Got ya, so basically I have from floor to ceiling in which the 2x4 that starts the slope of the roof is 8ft. Then at the peak of the house... theres another 2x4 holding the peaks probably about 4 ft wide. Take that board, measure to the floor, subtract 8 ft and then take 2/3 of the difference
