Are there any remaining independent toy stores that might have stuff other than what's on the shelves at Target, K-Mart, or Babies-R-Us?
I seem to recall there used to be one on Rte 25A in St. James back in the 1980s; they had a mix of educational and imported (from England and Germany, not China) toys but they are long gone.
Marty's Toy Stop in Floral Park, Hewlett, and Rockville Center.
Also have Lake shore Learning Center in New Hyde Park which has more educationally based toys and crafts.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
So Sad, kids don’t play with “Toys”. If it doesn’t have an “App”, kids could care less. Even the very very young ones. Sad.

On Merrick Road, one block west of NY 135.
Excellent help. Excellent knowledge of appropriate purchases.

Crummy attitude towards parkers visiting the bakery or 7-Eleven. Stores need to share spaces even if they own the lot. Example: westbound people looking for the bakery will pass the bakery parking lot before the bakery, then be caught by inhospitable Fun Stuff lot. The loop back adds a mile.
I still remember Toy Town in Huntington when I was a kid....used to love getting a gift wrapped in their signature polka dot gift wrap.
