Any ideas what this place is reserved for? I couldn't find any info is it supposed to be some kind of reservoir? It's not fenced, and there is an old paved road leading to it.

It’s 3.7 acres for flood control owned by the town. It’s fairly common and almost no chance it will ever be devolved.

You can see it on the public gis.

Do they still use the term sump? My friend growing up lived next to one, was like having a private ice rink in the winter. Heck knows what was in that water

I still use that word, The area in the picture isn't your typical "sump" as it's not really dug down. You can't skate in the sumps anymore, PoPO threatens to arrest you these days. Plenty of areas in the woods freeze enough for a few days a year still.

Thanks, does it mean the area fills with water and might have standing water, causing mosquitoes in spring/summer?
It's definitely not deep like some of the others I've seen, also surprising since it's so close to the park. I never thought there could be flood in the area, I guess it's lower laying compared to north of 495?
