In your case, it is just semantics because everyone knows you are really talking about non-whites moving to LI.
No, the point I was trying to bring up is that in time, it's entirely possible for Floral Park NYC and Floral Park LI to be virtually indistinguishable, that's all.

Every school in Floral Park, Queens, and Floral Park, Nassau - generally zip codes 11001 and 11426 - is rated between 7/10 and 9/10 by greatschools.org. All the schools are similarly strong, but none rank 10/10 as some schools in surrounding neighborhoods do.
I did notice that Floral Park Nassau does not have middle school. So the Floral Park Memorial is grade 7 to 12. But I thought that the students can apply for a different high school. Is that only for the City? how does that work in Floral Park Nassau county? Are they stuck in Floral Park Memorial no matter what? Or they have to transfer out after grade 8?
Floral Park High school is in Nassau and is part of the Sewanhaka Central School District which encompasses Elmont HS, Sewanhaka HS, New Hyde Park HS and Carey HS. Floral Park will be your home HS, but each school has different specialized programs that you would be eligible to attend. For example auto mechanics is in Sewanhaka, New Hyde Park has assisted employment for lower functioning special ed kids.
You are not eligible to attend any NYC schools if you live in Floral Park Nassau
I guess the biggest question is your ethnicity or how comfortable you are being in a neighborhood with a huge majority of a certain ethnicity.
Floral Park Queens is basically Bellerose and is primarily Indian and Pakistani.
Floral Park Nassau is primarily white.
While Floral Park Nassau is primarily white, Floral Park Memorial has a lot of black and Hispanic students (32.5%) vs white students (53.2%), probably from the neighboring town of Elmont.
