How much is your current monthly tab for internet + YT combined, if you don't mind my asking?
$40 for 200/200 (300 actual) and $50 YT plus $2.50 tax/fee = ~$92/mo.
I was paying $158 for 75/75 and Extreme tv with 2 boxes previously. Set to go up to $179 in March. Along with giving the finger to subscription box rip-offs where they have you by the testes, this was a no-brainer switch. We can watch on any tv/device and up to 3 simultaneously.

Good thing I'm not a fan of the local teams. That plus the +$80/mo. wasn't worth keeping it. How much over $92/mo. are you paying to keep it?

You must have FIOS and be grandfathered in to that speed tier, or on a promo? Just looked at their web site and the 200/200 level is not shown as an available plan; it's $40/mo for 100/100 and then $60/mo for 300/300. Looks like they are doing the same as Optimum, i.e., getting rid of the mid-speed/price tiers that they formerly had.

200/200 for $39.99 is a promo, with a $10 autopay discount. I used chat and phone to get it. For existing customers, they now have a mix & match plan that also allows you to get in on it.

I just signed with them again November for 2 years before they stopped doing contracts. Gigabit, 2 boxes, HBO/Showtime, custom family tv packhone. own the router. 152/month. Down from 178 previously.
They gave me 3 months of YT TV free (they have a partnership with google) and it was great! If I can’t get a similar deal in 2 years I’ll probably drop tv and the boxes
FIOS is a night and day difference. I think these days the fees are about equal: to put it in perspective, I have Triple Play: Fios Gigabit Connection, Fios TV Preferred HD and Fios Digital Voice US+11 Countries
Bundle Price $89.99. My taxes and fees are $21.44 including sports network surcharge, etc. So figured you would pay $110 for this bundle plus cable boxes and router rent (I own mine, and I have Tivo for cable).
I want to bet you that's cheaper than Optimum, much better service and better quality. Google 'Fios Triple Play' and price it out.
This is with or without a contract? Seems like a good deal to me.
That prompted me to look at my pdf now.Jan bill says it won't go up more than 50 cents. Feb bill same but new 89.99 rate with a $26 special discount. So...I didn't ask for that... confused...so if that 50 cents thing is true that discount will stay forever. I only have internet and phone
I am not an apologist for any cable company as I think they should offer and despite statements to the contrary, I do think they could offer ala carte cable with no problem. That said, we were discussing this a few weeks ago and a comment that a friend made gave me pause.
Back in the late 70's, I had a long distance romance with someone who lived in the west. I can recall an obscene phone bills for long distance charges because we would chat for hours. Fast forward til today when the phone, internet and cable are all bundled options. While many have dropped the phone portion and rely upon only their cell phone, I would venture that trading like for like it probably is not as bad as we think.
That said, I do think annual increases are obscene.

Remember waiting until 11pm to call because the rates went down ??

Or on weekends.
It took me a couple of years to get out of the habit of waiting until "off peak hours", LOL, because I'd been in that mindset for so long!
