A grand total of 6 (six) Suffolk County residents with Covid-19 have died in the last 24 hours. No word on age, underlying conditions, or whether any/all were in nursing homes.

Any word on how many died over the last 24 hours in Nassau? (It seems harder and harder to find that out.)

Agree it's very challenging to put it all together. Here's some interesting data re: Counts of Nursing Home COVID Related Deaths Statewide by NYS County & Facility:

A grand total of 3 persons died with Covid-19 yesterday in Nassau. https://www.newsday.com/news/health/...and-1.43149650 The number of tests given, positive tests, etc. is less important IMHO.

Test are unimportant. Many are coming back positive, a week later negative, another week later back to negative. So, the test are useless.

At this point, it seems test, trace, & treat is the best we can do.

Our modes of testing, tracing, & treating are, & have been, evolving; hopefully improving as time marches.

I disagree with "tests are unimportant" & "tests are useless".

Test results are data; data is real; nearly all else is hypotheses. Data will continue to be collected & analyzed for years to come.

If today's Newsday is to be believed, the virus is greatly diminishing and new cases in many locales are essentially down to 0.

- Nassau's communities experienced an average of about one new case every three days during the seven days ending June 1.

- Sixty-six communities that account for nearly half of Nassau's population have seen one case every two days or less on average over the last seven days of data.

- New cases emerged in only eight Nassau communities from May 31 through June 1, the most recent dates available.
