That is why we are now soaring past China's numbers of infected and dead.
If you believe China’s publicly-reported numbers I have a fine selection of bridges and tunnels in the NY Metro area available for sale at a reasonable price.
Take a look at the Johns Hopkins site and look at every country’s disease graph. EVERY single one except for China has a similar curve. China’s skyrockets and then immediately flattens out. There is no way this happens legitimately. Plus for weeks during the outbreak the death rate increase EXACTLY matched the new infection increase. That doesn’t happen either.

Fine, leave China out, the least consequential point in my post (which was not at all about China, despite the very real stat being exactly in line with WH reporting). Now cherry pick the rest.
#FACTS: Every country that experienced SARS reacted better and quicker to this and had faster recovery times. They EXPANDED their pandemic response apparatus per warnings and what they learned. We, on the other hand, did the exact opposite. We fired the experts and passed warnings off as political "attacks" to be dismissed with a Tweet. Actions have consequences. Ignoring US intelligence has consequences.

/\ The numbers from China and from Iran are to be treated with the highest degree of skepticism. Ditto for North Korea:
Pak Myong-su, a director at North Korea's Central Emergency Anti-epidemic headquarters, told news agency AFP on Friday: "Not one single person has been infected with the novel coronavirus in our country so far." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-52146989

Nothing in my post is about China, Russia, Korea, or timbuktu. Keep cherry picking for that nugget to dispute. It's about the US. I know 4 people who have died in the last week. I've really had it up to here with the deniers and discounters and the "great response" clowns. Lamest Fed response to a crisis ever. Can't even show a little eloquence. Still hasn't acknowledged the dead and dying with solace. Total embarrassment. Total leadership vacuum in America. Standing up there with Mnuchin smiling at the vast socialist they are suddenly happy to preside over. The virus was a hoax but the checks are real...and the debt. #sadderthansa

we lost my sons father inlaw this week... my sons mother inlaw and brother inlaw are in the hospital ... my ex wife has it but they sent her home to be treated ...

I will bet there is not one single person. That’s actually a factual statement, because if there were thousands there would be not “one single person”.
I don’t care about North Korea’s or Iran’s numbers, as they minimally impact the US. I DO care about China’s, because most countries took their lead from what was happening there and the message they gave.
Based upon personal experience doing business in China you are told what they want you to hear, not necessarily the truth, especially if you are a westerner.
As to our administration’s response, it was too slow and too casual at first. Same for NY’s.
With respect to the topic at hand - LI’s housing market crashing - no.
If anything young families might want to leave NYC more than ever. That hip two bedroom that houses a husband and wife with a young child (or 2) might look like a prison cell right about now. Leaving the apartment means going in an elevator which could be infected, to a lobby that could be infected. Even a small LI home with a yard and a basement would make it much easier to WFH and keep the kids busy.

my co-worker of 40 years died 2 days ago ...
this virus is not to be taken lightly
I have it. Luckily for me it was a mild case. Most symptoms gone at this point except smell and taste still gone, and I feel like I just ran a marathon.
