Maybe they won't have to work in the city if there are more openings at Northwell and other health and caregiving institutions.

It will die out when the baby boomers die out. Given where life expectancies are right now, that will take many decades.

That’s if Long Island’s boomers stay put. Besides changing bedpans I could see longevity and quality of life research being done given a high enough density of test subjects to monitor, especially if they’re cradle to not quite grave Islanders.
