Did you read the entire article, or even the end of the sentence you quoted: "but economists are bracing for a big hit"?
Did you even read what I posted? That part was in my original quote and I haven't contested what the "experts" say *will* happen, just pointing out what the data shows *has happened* so far. All the negatives are future projections, aka "bracing for" or "expecting".
We all know that when economists predict or expect something to happen, it always happens, right?

Did you read the part in the article you yourself linked which said that the Swedish people were following its government's recommendations to stay at home and/or socially distance?
Unfortunately, people like you are why we can't have nice things like a Swedish-style policy of "recommendations" instead of "lockdowns."
how many more months do I have to wait to sit down and eat a meal at a restaurant again? because they claim long island is open I dont see any difference
Why the eagerness to expose yourself to something that has no vaccine? Are you that desperate to pay to eat out?
Bubble-living yada yada yada... but think about what you're saying...

People like me? You have no clue how I am. At no point have I dismissed taking precautions, wearing masks, limiting contact, etc. The fact is our govt never gave social distancing a chance. They recommended around March 10 and a week later places began ordering lockdowns. Maybe some of the crowds you see now are from repressed demand. Prevent people from going to bars or eating at restaurants or camping or swimming for two months then when you do allow it you have millions of people trying to do it at once. It's like starving everyone then wondering why everyone rushes to the table all at once when you finally put out food.
Based on Chinese data, the international WHO mission report indicates that up to 75% of initially asymptomatic cases will progress to clinical disease, making the true asymptomatic infection rather rare (estimated at 1-3%) [16].
