Just wondering if I were to build a deck in my backyard, nothing too big just to sit Around and BBQ confortably. How much more will my taxes go up? Are we talking thousands? Or hundreds? In lindenhurst by the way. Thanks for your input.

Pavers! Not attached to your house, so your not taxed. Last longer, less maintenance

pavers and/or keep the deck below 18 inches off the ground (top of it). most towns dont even need a permit for the deck then

I agree - low standalone deck or pavers.

I'll look into it. That's what I've been told from others as well. Thanks. But if I were to do a deck, how much are taxes raised? Hundreds or thousands? Just curious.

Since you dont need a permit, you dont need to tell them....... Dont bolt the deck to the house.

most towns esp in suffolk do not require a permit if the top of the deck is 18 inches or lower to the ground and if you dont attach it to the house.
