I have had Fios since Superstorm Sandy took out my Cablevision for over 3 weeks, my neighbors Fios never skiped a beat other than their home having no power. Once we powered them up from my whole house generator they had service.
Cablevision requires utility power at their pole mounted amplifiers, if 1 between your home and the head end has no power, you have no service. They do have battery backup, 8 or so hours but most had not been maintained and died early.
Fios only requires power at the Central office (they have battery's backed up by generators) and power at your home (my natural gas powered generac) so as long as the fiber is intact you have service
Looked kind of funny, an extension cord running to their house to power freezers, lights and their Fios ONT and Router and then a Cat-5 cable running from their home to mine for internet.
OP I guess you purchased in Lindenhurst, What area ? Good luck in your new home
