We are looking at a house in the new Canterbury area. Thoughts on this area and the covert school? How many RVC kids v south Hempstead kids are zoned for that school?

I don't know the specifics about zoning but RVC schools are some of the best there is.

I went to Covert and grew up in the un-incorporated portion of RVC. Was a nice area no complaints.

I would say there were more RVC students (non village residents) vs South Hempstead residents.

Covert students include the nice blocks off Hempstead Ave (Reeve, Atkinson, Wright, Bulson), along with the below blocks off N Long Beach Road Westminister, Laurel, Woodbridge, Rose Lane, Arizona etc(non village), and McDermott (In village). All very nice areas with expensive homes.

South Hempstead is nothing to slouch at either, its a nice area. Seems like there has been a lot of building up of houses / extensions. True you aren't in the RVC village, or have the RVC zip but still get access to the excellent school. For the LIRR commuter, you can just take the train from Baldwin (and actually get a seat in the morning, parking cheap) as opposed to get getting fleeced for $240 a year for parking at the RVC station if you are not within walking distance).
