I've been keeping a keen eye on the tax portal
https://apps.brookhavenny.gov/Online...xes/Tax-Portal
I noticed that the taxes have been updated for the 2021 year.

The house I'm in contract for only increased $101 keeping it just barely below the 6k mark for taxes.
That's just a 1.7% increase, so I'm pretty stoked right now.

So how much higher did your taxes go?

It’s sad when anyone cheers for “only” a 1.7% increase. I remember years of 4%, 5% and 6% increases before 2011.

In my current home and previous home I’ve had years where taxes went down - not due to grieving, but due to actually only taxing what’s needed.

My taxes dropped from 9k to 8300 this year, and I got a check in mail from loan company. No, I did not grieve. Town reassessed.
