Is that even a thing?

I wouldn’t live in Freeport - with or without kids - but that’s my own preference. Baldwin schools are not terribly high rated but they’re ok & better than Freeport.

Yes, I asked because I actually met a young lady that was attending school up here that lived in Freeport in a portion zoned for Baldwin Schools(she was wearing a Baldwin varsity jacket at the time).

I'm assuming it was in the NW corner of the village: Census Block Group 414100-4 in Nassau County, New York

I would much prefer a Baldwin over Oceanside, even though Oceanside is more aesthetically pleasing, I think the location sucks and it’s so congested in that area. Oceanside is not close any parkway or any main road other than Long Beach Rd, Austin & Lawson. It feels kinda trapped.
of course the parts of Baldwin that you recommended are pretty much just as landlocked as most of Oceanside.

here's a suggestion - check out the part of RVC that is zoned for Oceanside schools (generally near Lincoln Ave and Rockaway Ave. south of Merrick Rd). There are several good looking homes/blocks in that area that sell at a discount compared to homes zoned for RVC schools. Many are within walking distance of "downtown" RVC and LIRR. And you don't have to worry about flooding. Or consider the northern part of Oceanside (north of Foxhurst/Atlantic).

Ha! I changed it too. Still applies, how long ago has it been since you moved?

I agree Oceanside is congested and for 1mil it wouldn’t be a consideration, but for 750k it’s not a terrible choice if you are interested in the lifestyle.

Baldwin Harbor & Bay Colony do not have the same ‘congested feel’ as Oceanside

Apparently not long enough for O'side to change since I agree with everything jawg said and she lives right near there.

they're just as landlocked - and when residents want to leave those areas, the main roads are no picnic.
