The statewide 11 p.m. curfew on some businesses will be lifted at the start of next month, but will remain in place for bars and restaurants for now, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday in a conference call with reporters.
Gyms, bowling alleys, casinos, and pool halls will no longer have the curfew beginning April 5.
The 11 p.m. curfew for restaurants and midnight curfew for catered events will stay in place “for now.”
I wonder what science and data cuomo is using to justify keeping an 11 PM cerfew
Florida is having a packed UFC event with thousands of people next month, and cuomo is still using a curfew and his "covid-19 task force" is still out giving tickets and yanking liquor licenses if they dont follow his laws.... cuomo said today without a vaccine passport your not going to a baseball game.
and big pharma has been cuomos #1 donor.
he wont even talk to the press.
I dont think this is going to end until they place him in handcuffs?
how many investigations does he have going on?
hes a pro big pharma governor, hes trying to drag this covid19 thing out as long as he can
hes the only one trying to set up covid passports for the baseball games
You’re supposed to feel grateful that Gov. Andrew Cuomo is lifting his 11 p.m. curfew on New York casinos, movie theaters, bowling alleys, billiard halls, gyms and fitness centers as of April 5. But his “mercy” only makes all his continued arbitrary oppressions sting that much harder.
Why end this mandate, but not the one for struggling restaurants and bars? Those curfews, says the governor, “will remain in effect for the time being.”
Why, you ask? Because he said so.
There is no other rhyme or reason to it than that. Basically, it sure seems, the gov just thinks art and exercise are more deserving than is dining or, especially, drinking.
It plainly doesn’t matter that bars and restaurants mean far more to most New Yorkers. Nor that his own numbers, last we checked, tied just 1.43 percent of 46,000 COVID cases to such establishments. The overwhelming majority of known exposures, 73.84 percent, came from private household gatherings.
Nor matter that much of the nation is containing the virus as well as or better than New York by actually following the science, rather than the whims and prejudices of Andrew Cuomo.
"So far, health officials moved 57 residents out of Manor Pines Convalescent Center in Wilton Manors into four Broward County hospitals. In Miami-Dade County, health officials have transferred 104 residents of Fair Havens Center in Miami Springs, along with 35 from Pointe of North Gables assisted living facility. In Palm Beach County, 16 residents have been transferred out of Renaissance Health and Rehabilitation in West Palm Beach."
You're comparing these miniscule numbers with what NYC had to deal with? Wow.
More from your article:
"In the last few weeks, multiple nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state have experienced outbreaks, as operators have begged for more testing, supplies and personal protective gear for their workers."
If you like FL so much, then go live there.

the thing is, cuomo has banned the press from asking questions...... considering his administration admitted they changed the numbers, should t he media have the right to ask where hes getting his numbers from, or are they withholding information again?
its pretty disturbing that these press conferences have become echo chambers of cuomo and dr zucker praise and no members of the press are allowed to join
A group of New York City exotic dancing clubs sued New York state Thursday, saying it’s not fair that they’re being kept closed when everything from axe-throwing venues to bars with live music and casinos can open up.
The lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court claimed that thousands of employees are forced out of work by the state’s ban because of the coronavirus. Defendants included Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state’s liquor licensing authority.
A spokesperson for the governor’s office said the lawsuit attempts to undermine “science-based public health measures.”
“While we are working to reopen as many facets of the economy as quickly and safely as possible, science, data, and common sense dictate that exotic dancing is not allowable at this time,” spokesperson Jack Sterne said in a statement.
According to the lawsuit, at least 41 other states allow similar businesses to remain open.

Why can't the media do some research? They can interview the heads of all the agencies that crank the numbers. The Governor is a figurehead.

Remember the sacred number for opening some schools was the sacred minimum of 6 feet? For 10 months it was 6 feet. The ‘experts’ were positive it was 6 feet.
Any chance the peculiar advice to the fully vaccinated to wear a mask (or two) will be wrong too?
