the premium is dependent on several variables you won't know until you buy.
You should really get smart on this before you buy. There is a ton of information on this topic available online. And ask the sellers what they're paying, if anything.
We have flood insurance now. We’re familiar with it. We’re near water but not on it. Our current co will write near water. They gave us a quote. It’s a ballpark. I realize it’ll possibly change & yes it says on the listing what they’re paying currently.

first it was

I found a few homes in Amityville Harbor
now you have a specific home in mind? Which is it? Why did you need a quote if you already know how much the premium is for this specific home? Then again, how did they give you a quote without an elevation certificate?
It's ok to admit you don't know what you're talking about.

Why does it matter? My question was in regards to AH not flood insurance.
Is village of Amityville the same thing as Amityville Harbor?
Amity Harbor is not part of the incorporated Village of Amityville. It is the peninsula south of 27A between Buchanan Ave and Baylawn Ave. While solidly middle class, it is a far cry from being upper middle class.

good point! What does it matter that flood insurance costs can vary from as little as $400 per year to as much as $5,000 per year (or more)? It obviously has little to do with your home search since you already have a policy in hand for a house you've yet to purchase!

Isn't that similar to Spaceballs instant cassettes? They're out in stores before the movie is finished.

Money isnt an issue for us. We have plenty of it. I specifically stated that in my post.
Anyone looking to buy on the water and not plan on raising the house to FEMA code is playing with fire. Besides that most of the older houses need new foundations anyway.
Amity Harbor is fine. A nice, safe area. As long as you take into account that if you ever do have kids you will have to pay for private school, you will be fine there.
