Looks like a done deal. Some interesting points:

https://longisland.news12.com/ny-sta...-vote-expected

-localities can opt out of allowing sales
-will take 18-24 months for the NYS red tape to be finalized no sales until then
-21 year old age limit
-9% statewide sales tax and more for additional THC
-if your driving cops can use smell toward probable cause toward a DWI but not to search your car for further drugs
-much of the money and sale licenses will go to job programs etc for “underserved” communities
-3 ounces max on your person. 5 plants max growing at home
-anti weed education program for children
-no vendors allowed to be built near schools or houses of worship

I’m really surprised that they are allowing 5 plants per home. NY is going up in smoke!

Tax revenue is down. Have to make it up somehow. 5 plants? What does that entail? I guess we need a weights & measure Zar? 24 inches or 4 ft?

Why, how many people have their own home distilleries? If you weren't worried about rampant alcoholism, you shouldn't be worried about weed.

I have ZERO issues with legalization. What I do have an issue with???
"New York would start automatically expunging records of people with past convictions for marijuana-related offenses that would no longer be criminalized."

So you broke the law when it was ILLEGAL, but now get a pass? WTF? How does this make ANY sense? This country seriously is in trouble.

My issue is with the cowardice of our NY Elected's . This should be an up and down vote, not something passed in a budget bill.

5 plants in an apartment? That's gonna stink up the place. Brewing beer, doesn't stink like that.

I guess condo's can ban the growing of weed on premises.

Either way toker's congrats!

6 plants per spouse. So if you're married, 12 plants.

Don't worry, all of our local leaders are sure to chase that tax revenue over the city border because they still think it's Levittown in 1947.

I don’t have any issue with this at all. BUT we all know we will never see any of the generated funds from this. Just another $ grab to fill the coffers just like bridge tolls, lotto, etc

There is already 2 medicinal shops on 110 3 miles apart one across street from SUNY farmingdale other across st from the mall. I can see Nassau not allowing any.
