[*]LIRR Utility worker Salvatore Lazzarino, $252,891 on top of $77,038 in regular pay. - 87.54 OT Hours / Week (127.54 Total Hours / Week)

[*]LIRR track foreman Edward Popolizio, $238,788 on top of $104,807 in regular pay. - 60.76 OT Hours / Week (100.76 Total Hours / Week)

[*]MTA police sergeant James Bertram, $237,176 on top of $145,719 in regular pay. - 43.40 OT Hours / Week (83.4 Total Hours / Week)

[*]LIRR machine operator Lee Levine, $227,035 on top of $86,732 salary. - 69.80 OT Hours / Week (109.8 Total Hours / Week)

Anything over 100 hours per week is absolutely ridiculous. Investment banking analysts aren't even allowed to work that much anymore.

I have a hard time believing that Sal is working 18.22 hours/day, 7 days/week
It's time and a half first 9 hrs of ot, then double time. Then other variables like out of tour pay.

Thank you, that decreases the hours quite a bit but it's still a very high amount.

Regardless, management really needs to look into this and clean it up.

Management is part of the problem.

It's interesting that the MTA may say that the increased costs are due to Covid related expenses but it doesn't look like any of the above named workers were involved in that sort of work.
It is truly amazing that with ridership levels plummeting to numbers never seen on the LIRR for the vast part of 2020 and still down in 2021, the MTA didn't have any layoffs/reduction in workforce...I get that the Gov/NY state taxpayers are beholden to unions but as every industry was massively impacted by Covid...MTA workers were immune.
And no this isn't an anti-union rant but if your ridership drops below 90% and you are begging for a federal bailout, workforce reductions should be on the table.
