I assume they are laid off from an actual job and collecting and also working off the books. It is not possible to work off the books and collect UI - the two are mutually exclusive.

Sharpen my skills a bit. Just being honest.

This also impacts the lowest paid workers the most. They tend to work with the public and have to expose themselves. People don't want to run the risk of exposing themselves for $9 an hour when they can stay home and make more. It's a no brainer. Fortunately I have been allowed to work from home but the days are counting down my employer wants us back. To be completely honest there is near 0 reason to go back to the office. My coworkers and I have been just as productive or more so since working from home. My home office setup is actually way better than my work setup also.
It won’t last forever. However, those making $400-$500 per week (PLUS UNEMPLOYMENT STIMULUS) will have no problem finding a job for $400-$500 once the unenjoyment checks stop coming in. Hey, I hear Amazon will be hiring! LOL
