Is the crew still drag racing on Sunrise Highway every Saturday night? The best part was hanging out of the sunroof playing chicken. Funniest part was they were all Jewish, cutting loose after a long day in the temple.
Try Cedarhurst, Hewlett Harbor, Woodmere and Lawrence. Understand that in all jewish neighborhoods on LI, you will be shunned by the orthodox & Hasidic jews if you practice conservative judaism. Sad,,,but true.
Per your reputation cmments...yes, I do know the differences. I also worked in the village of Lawrence for 4 years and I see the differences. What is YOURooint.
A cousin of mine raised her son in a CA city with a large East Asian population. Her son was very intelligent and did well in school. However she complained that if there were fewer East Asian students in the school, her son would have ranked higher in the graduating class.
She failed to realize that by attending class with other students who excelled, her son received a better education because the standards were higher.
I’m not too sure about that anymore. In the old days, totally but I still have family in the dirty O and they say it’s nowhere near as Jewish as it used to be. Just look at the nonsense going on with the OJC. Business is so bad they sold off half the property and I also heard they might just end up closing the doors on the place.
IDK. Haven’t been there in years, just going by what I’m told.
West Hempstead is heavily Jewish. There is a yeshiva school on Hempstead avenue and several temples along that road and a kosher supermarket and kosher Chinese restaurant and Kosher pizza parlor. I also believe the community is taking over the old Pompeii restaurant that closed down and turning that into a kosher catering hall for Bar mitzvah's and such.
